BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery)

BDS stands for Bachelor of Dental Surgery, which is an undergraduate degree program in dentistry. It is a 5-year long academic program that prepares students to become dental surgeons.

The BDS program focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of dental and oral diseases. Educational Qualification: The candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects. The minimum percentage required for admission varies from institute to institute, but generally, it is 50% or above in aggregate.

Age Limit: The candidate must have completed 17 years of age on or before December 31 of the year of admission. There is no upper age limit for admission to BDS.

Entrance Exam: The candidate must have appeared and cleared the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) conducted at the national level.

Domicile: The candidate must be a domicile of Gujarat state. However, some dental colleges in Gujarat also admit candidates from other states based on their NEET score.
